As a newcomer to leather fashion, I had quite an interesting experience in looking for a jacket. Thought I would share in case it will save you time. I was first tempted by other online retailers like asos, and while I liked some of their jackets and they were relatively cheap, I had my suspicions about their quality and fit given they are not leather specialists. As I did more research, I discovered how involved buying a leather jacket is. Walking around London you realise how there are some not very nice leather jackets out there. People on the mainland are a bit better with their leather and it is way more in trend there, but there is still a lot of rubbish out there. I came up with these (sometimes generalised) opinions in order of cost (I include SR at the end): Camden market stalls: Usually marked at about £400 but offered at more like £150 and can bargain down, some even go for £40. Designs are usually atrocious, but the look may suit some people. I'd put these down as cheap and cheerful, but not in my taste unless I was going to a village people dress up party. Cheap leather goods is a false economy! Online retailers eg asos and others: Not bad designs, range of prices but for a decent one looking at 150-250. Often found the designs a little bit too biker, and didn't look like their fits were great, a bit too baggy. High Street retailers like Superdry: A lot of these guys aren't specialist in leather, usually made in asia and low/medium quality but still with a highesh price tag. A lot of these will be sold merely on brand. Very High end online retailers (forgotten their names): you're looking at £600+ now for a jacket. These are very high quality, sometimes a 3 month wait to be made. My budget didn't stretch this far, they looked great but I also found the designs not cool enough. Would suit more someone on a yacht trying to look rich rather than every day wear. Brand names e.g. Hugo Boss: Some great jackets but also with huge cost. Could not rationalise the cost, but also these tend to be looser fitting jackets. For that amount you could get a total custom jacket. Some of the other high end retailers were selling awful leather jackets that not even a biker would wear. Their strategy to design seems to be: lets add another zip here and button there to try make it more trendy. Then we get onto Soul Revolver. I landed on their site somewhat by accident, and instantly liked the range of designs, especially as I wanted something more unique but still a bit more subtle and less biker. For a mid range cost (especially with a deal) the quality is high end, and SeAnn is very much on the ball with coming back to all my annoying questions. The pictures on the website are great, but the jacket in reality I think is even better as they don't have that shine that you don't want with genuine leather. I noted some reviews pointed to thin leather. I researched that this is the normal thickness for such jackets - if you want a riding jacket then that would be thicker. These are meant for low teen temperatures, so don't expect a winter garment. So to cut a very long story short, I highly recommend them and can't understand why more people here aren't wearing these.
